The issue of professional competences of activation workers in homes for the elderly

The submitted dissertation deals with the issue of activation of seniors, or by analyzing and identifying the competences of activation workers of homes for the elderly. The goal of the work is to define the framework of educational and qualification requirements for an activation worker in homes for the elderly, when this worker is a fundamental employee influencing the sense of security, social involvement and quality of life of the elderly. The research was carried out in the form of qualitative research, based on grounded theory, using structured interviews with activation workers and senior staff of homes for the elderly in the Ústí Region. The topic of activation of seniors is current and socially significant, therefore it is necessary to pay professional attention to workers implementing activation programs and activities. Educational sciences, especially andragogy and gerontagogy, can be included among the key theoretical starting points. Educational needs of activity coordinators in the nursing homes

The thesis deals with the educational needs of activity coordinators in the nursing homes. The theoretical part characterizes nursing homes, their function, services, their legislative definition and then focuses on the elderly, their needs and the changes they undergo in old age. It also describes activation activities in the nursing homes, focusing on the characteristics of activity coordinators and specific activation activities. The theoretical section concludes with a discussion of adult education in the context of selected theories of human needs and adult motivation for further learning. Furthermore, the general principles of adult education and the current situation in the education of activity coordinators are described. The practical part includes qualitative research in which aspects that influence the educational needs of activity coordinators in the nursing homes were identified and evaluated. A total of five activation workers from three different nursing homes located in the South Bohemia region participated in the research.
Leisure activities as a space to meet the needs of seniors in a residential facility

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to find out and describe which needs of seniors can be met through leisure activities in a residential facility and under which conditions. The bachelor thesis deals with the process of aging and old age and the changes associated with it and adaptation to old age. It also describes the needs, of which saturation is significant in senior age, beacuse it affects the quality of life of seniors. The following chapter deals with the specifics of leisure time in old age. Furthermore, the bachelor thesis focuses on a home for the elderly and the adaptation of the senior to a new place after moving to a home for the elderly. Last but not least, the thesis talks about activating activities in a home for the elderly. The types of activating activities and the needs that can be met during these activities are described here. Another essential part of the bachelor's thesis is the content of work of the activation worker. The theoretical work will be illustrated by examples from a particular facility for the elderly.
Activation Activities and Therapies in the Nursing Homes with Special Regime

The Bachelor's work focuses on providing activation activities and therapies in nursing homes with a special regimen. The aim of Bachelor's thesis is to map out the provision of activation activities and therapies to users at home with a special regimen. The work is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical section is divided into two main chapters and nine sub-chapters. The first chapter defines the main terms from a home environment with a special regimen - target group, workers of a home with a special regimen and their education, activism activities and individual planning. The second chapter of the theoretical section explains the activism activities and therapies which are provided the most at homes with a specific regimen. The qualitative research, questioning method and semi-structured interview technique are used to collect data for the practical part. The HVO survey question has been determined: How activation activities and therapy are provided at home with a special regimen. In addition, there are determined two sub-research questions DVO1: What is the education of workers who providing activation activities and therapy at home with a special regimen? DVO2: How do homes with a special regimen co-operate with special educators? The research was realized during the month of February and March 2020 at homes with a special regimen in the South Bohemia. The results follow that activation activities and therapies at homes with a special regimen in the South Bohemia are provided in a broad range, individual and group forms. The workers who procure the activation continuously supplement their education and they educate in new areas. The results of the bachelor's thesis are useful for students of selected fields, for workers who providing activation activities and therapies at homes with specific regimen and as feedback for the facilities where the research is realized.
Possibilities of education and activation of seniors in social facilities

The diploma thesis is focused on mapping the possibilities and availability of education and activation of seniors in social services of selected social facilities in the South Moravian Region. The thesis monitors the offer of educational and activation programmes for the elderly in the South Moravian Region, especially in the Hodonín and Kyjov districts, their implementation and positive or negative impact on the elderly. In the theoretical part, I focus on the topic of old age, a very topical issue of ageing, the definition of essential educational and activation programmes and their importance and benefits, the quality of the programmes offered and the education and activation of seniors in the context of the applied science discipline. I mention the participants in the programs, highlighting the need for expertise in the field and a brief breakdown of the programs. Seniors and active aging in the seniors'house in Ostrava

Demographic aging of population brings a number of needs, demands and changes in many areas of social life. In this case, Czech Republic has accepted several documents which also contain National Programme of Preparation for Aging for 2003 - 2007, and then for 2008 - 2012. This document regards to the concept of active aging and old age, which was accepted by the World Health Organization in the 90's, defined as a process of health quality development, seniors' social participation and the entire rising of a quality of life in an old age. The activity becomes desirable and proper way of the seniors' life. The diploma project is focused on the seniors' activities, specifically on the offer of activation activities and their usage in Ostrava seniors' house. Activation Activities in Nursing Homes

The Bachelor thesis is focused on the theme Activization activities in senior houses and deals with providing activization activities in the Senior House U lesíka Znojmo. The key objective of the Bachelor thesis was to research providing of activization: the form and type of activization activities, the process of activization activities, tools, the education of activization workers, the benefits of activization and SWOT analyse of activization activities) in the senior house. Partial objective was to research activities of a social worker in the context of providing activization activities. The Bachelor thesis is divided into two parts. It consists of a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains information on activization activities, a senior house and ageing. The practical part was written on the base of the main research question: How are the activization activities provided in the senior house?; and partial research questions. The practical part was processed by a qualitative research and by a specific questioning method. The used technique of a semi-structured interview was done by three social workers, four activization workers and five users of the senior house. Results of the research show that social workers are satisfied with the course of activation activities in Nursing Home. Activation workers are not satisfied some of the questioned persons are satisfied with the activization activities and some of them has comments to the actual providing of activization activities. Unsatisfied are activation workers and users with premises and aids used in activation activities. Suggestions for better providing of activization activities are included in the resume of the Bachelor thesis. The Bachelor thesis will be used as a feedback for the Centre of Social Services Znojmo - The Senior House, where the research was made with the written consent of its director. The research results will be used to improve providing of activization activities in mentioned facility.
Activating programs as a way for spiritual development for erderly in a retirement home

The thesis deals with saturation of spiritual needs of elderly in residential houses through the perspective of activationists. In the preliminary part are treated questions about ageing, adaptation to ageing, human needs and spiritual needs at first. After that is discussed the activity in elderly, not only in relation with the adaptation to ageing but also as a place of activation. At the last part of this chapter it´s question of residential houses and activationists. In the practical part there is an analysis and evaluation of approaches to the saturation of spiritual needs in activating programs of chosen activationists. The selection of responders represents different characteristics of residential houses in the Pilsen region. The different approaches to spiritual needs in the activating programmes are induced by the personal knowledge, experience and abilities of activationists.
